I’ve been meaning to design a
centralized location explaining any
abbreviations or technical (ie, Judaic, sanskrit, etc.) terms
on this site of a while now.

I think I’ll implement this by placing a
drop–down menu on every individual entry page, with
links pointing to named anchors here... eventually.

AJHS

Abraham Joshua Heschel School — a trans–denominational Jewish day school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. (heschel.org). I went to school there from 3rd through 8th grades. They didn’t have a high school back now, but now they do.

BJ

B’nai Jeshurun — A synagogue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (bj.org) where I grew up, and continue to grow up. Known for their musical services and phenomenal sanctuary.

JCC

Jewish Community Center of Manhattan — Where I started working in September 2002 as a nursery school teacher, and take a number of classes.

NHC

National Havurah Committee — I first heard of NHC (havurah.org) by attending their 2002 Summer Institute. I couldn’t quite believe I hadn’t heard of them earlier. They coordinate Havurah–style (ie, lay–led) Jewish activities throughout the US and Canada.

PRYT

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy — (pryt.com) a session consists of “a one–on–one process lasting one–and–a–half hours. Through assisted yoga postures and non–directive dialogue, practitioners guide clients to experience the connection of their physical and emotional selves.” I’ve had about half–a–dozen sessions thus far, and journaled most of them. See yoga.samff.com for details.

Stuy

Stuyvesant High School for Math and Sciences — New York’s top specialized high school. (stuy.edu)
